Viele davon hat er selbst entwickelt – immer wieder tauchte auf der B\u00fchne ein neues Instrument auf. Am Ende waren es \u00fcber zehn Girarren, die von ihm vorgestellt und gespielt wurden. Was Metheny nach wie vor auszeichnet ist seine klangtechnische Neugier, egal ob auf einer Bariton- oder der speziellen Pikassogitarre, die an dem Abend nat\u00fcrlich auch nicht fehlen durfte. Stets ist er dabei Neuland auf seinen Instrumenten auszuloten, egal ob im Tourbus, Hotelzimmer oder den Konzerts\u00e4len.<\/p>\n

Aus seinem bewegten Leben<\/h3>\n

Nach nunmehr 53 Alben stellte Metheny in der Isarphilharmonie seine aktuellen Ver\u00f6ffentlichungen \u201eDream Box\u201c & \u201eMoon Dial\u201c vor. Soloalben gibt es bereits mehrere von ihm, aber Pat Metheny solo live, das ist tats\u00e4chlich ein Novum! Mit seinen mittlerweile 70 Jahren tourt er zum ersten Mal ohne weitere Musiker durch die Lande, stellt eine ganz pers\u00f6nliche Auswahl an St\u00fccken vor und begleitet sich dabei mal per Looper oder mit dem ebenfalls von ihm erfundenen und konstruierten Orchestrion. Metheny erz\u00e4hlt aus seinem bewegten Leben, gibt Einblicke in sein Schaffen und Tipps an die im Publikum anwesenenden Gitarristen, sollten sie ebenfalls auf die Idee kommen, eine Baritongitarre spielen zu wollen. Sein Programm startete mit einem Best-of-Medley und ging dann in eine Bestandsaufnahme seiner Karriere \u00fcber, die seine musikalischen Stationen streifte: seine Anf\u00e4nge in Kansas City, die einzigartige und f\u00fcr ihn pr\u00e4gende Freundschaft zu Charlie Haden, sein Ausflug in die \u201eZero Tolerance for Silence\u201c, seine Inspiration durch Ornette Coleman oder die Liebe f\u00fcr Standards, wie z.B. den Klassiker \u201eAlfie\u201c. Metheny begeisterte das Publikum von der ersten Minute seiner \u00fcber zweist\u00fcndigen Perfomance an bis zur \u00dcberraschung am Schluss der Show, als das Orchestrion enth\u00fcllt wurde und noch einmal ein ganz anderes Klangspektrum aufzeigte. Nach zwei Zugaben, tosendem Applaus und standing ovations, folgte schlie\u00dflich noch der Beatles Klassiker \u201eAnd I Love Her\u201c.<\/p>\n

Unerm\u00fcdlich unterwegs<\/h3>\n

Pat Metheny ist nach wie vor unerm\u00fcdlich unterwegs und bestreitet seit 1974 j\u00e4hrlich zwischen 120 und 240 Konzerte. Einen Aspekt sucht man bei ihm all die Jahre allerdings vergebens: Routine! Jedes seiner Konzerte ist einmalig: individuell, pers\u00f6nlich gestaltet und immer nah am Publikum. So war auch dieser Abend eine Sternstunde, vielsaitig und begeisternd.<\/p>\n
