Ausgabe des Bezau Beatz Festivals<\/strong> doch unter einem ungl\u00fccklichen Stern zu stehen. Lange im Vorfeld schon hatte Alfred Vogel \u2013 als Spiritus Rector Herz und Seele dieses heuer vom 8. bis zum 11. August in Bezau stattfindenden Events \u2013 mitteilen m\u00fcssen, dass er an Leuk\u00e4mie erkrankt war. Um die Durchf\u00fchrung trotzdem zu gew\u00e4hrleisten, \u00fcbergab er die operative Leitung an den Schlagzeuger Valentin Schuster. Inwieweit er aber auch selbst an seinem Festival w\u00fcrde teilnehmen k\u00f6nnen, blieb bis zuletzt fraglich.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Textbody\">Gute Nachricht vorab: er konnte. Und nicht nur das: Er trat sogar selbst als Schlagzeuger auf, was dem Festival am vorletzten Tag seinen wohl bewegendsten Moment bescherte.<\/p>\n<h3>Zuerst Schlagzeuger<\/h3>\n<p class=\"Textbody\">Dass Alfred Vogel auch und vermutlich zuerst ein Schlagzeuger ist, merkte man nicht zuletzt seinem Programm an: Namen wie Ra Kalam Bob Moses (in Dreierkonstellation mit Pedro Melo Alves und Vasco Trilla) oder Hamid Drake, Fabian Arends, Sylvain Darrifourcq, Jan-Einar Groh, Christian Lillinger, Steffen Roth und Marius Wankel lesen sich ja nicht zuf\u00e4llig wie ein Geschichte und Gegenwart vereinendes Who is who ihres Instruments \u2026<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Textbody\">Dazu passte, dass es neben den Konzerten auch einen \u201eDrummers Talk\u201c gab. Weniger \u00fcberraschend als die Teilnahme eines (sein Instrument nicht zuletzt perkussiv auffassenden) Pianisten (Leo Genovese) an diesem Talk war vielleicht, dass es dabei weniger um Schlagzeugspezifisches ging als um die Stellung \u201edes Musikers\u201c in der Welt, seine soziale Situation und Funktion \u2013 etwa im Vergleich zu einem Notarzt, der t\u00e4glich Leben rettet. In der Folge ging es dann auch darum, was es etwa bedeutet, zehn Stunden zu einem Auftritt anzureisen, zu dem dann zwei zahlende G\u00e4ste kommen. Anfangs schaffte er gerade mal zehn Minuten, ehe er ermattet aufh\u00f6ren musste \u2013 aber nach einer Woche hielt er dann schon wieder 45 Minuten lang durch und erkannte: Fortschritt ist m\u00f6glich.<\/p>\n<h3>Existenzielle Bedeutung der Musik<\/h3>\n<p class=\"Textbody\">Wollte man nach einem gemeinsamen Nenner der auf diesem Festival auftretenden MusikerInnen suchen, f\u00e4nde man diesen vielleicht am ehesten in der existenziellen Bedeutung der Musik f\u00fcr sie selbst. Und in der damit einher gehenden Haltung dem Publikum gegen\u00fcber, das sich im besten Fall gefordert, aber nicht immer auch unterhalten f\u00fchlen sollte. So m\u00f6chte man Julius Windisch, einem der interessantesten Vertreter der jungen Avantgardszene, gern zurufen, dass er es sich und dem Publikum doch auch ein bisschen einfacher machen k\u00f6nnte. Zumal einige seiner hoch reflexiven, sich behutsam vorantastenden, auch dem Gegen\u00fcber viel Raum gebenden St\u00fccke in den sch\u00f6nsten Momenten einen \u201ePuls\u201c entwickeln, dem man gern l\u00e4nger folgen w\u00fcrde.<\/p>\n<h3>\u00dcberraschende T\u00f6ne<\/h3>\n<p class=\"Textbody\">Offene Ohren jedenfalls wurden belohnt: mit neuen, im besten Fall \u00fcberraschenden T\u00f6nen. Was auch daran liegen d\u00fcrfte, dass die Musiker um die unvergleichliche S\u00e4ngerin und Performerin Jelena Kulji\u0107 \u2013 Kalle Kalima an Gitarre und Bass, Frank M\u00f6bus, Gitarre, Christian Lillinger an den Drums \u2013 allesamt auch aus anderen, unterschiedlich artifiziellen Projekten der Szene wohlbekannt sind.<\/p>\n<h3>&#8222;Velvet Revolution&#8220;<\/h3>\n<p class=\"Textbody\">Immer f\u00fcr einen musikalischen H\u00f6hepunkt gut ist Daniel Erdmann \u2013 in Bezau als \u201eVelvet Revolution\u201c mit Theo Ceccaldi an Viola und Violine sowie Jim Hart am Vibraphon am Start und in dieser Kombination das freie Spiel in fast liedhafte Strukturen einbindend. Der eigentliche H\u00f6hepunkt dieses Festivals aber war der eingangs erw\u00e4hnte Auftritt des Bezau Beatz Orchestras Of Good Hope \u2013 mit Leo Genovese, Klavier, Luis Vicente, Trompete, Jo\u00e3o Pedro Brand\u00e3o, Fl\u00f6te und Pedal Board, Demian Cabaud, Bass, Camila Nebbia, Tenorsaxophon, Sofia Salvo, Baritonsaxophon, und Pedro Melo Walves neben Alfred Vogel als zweitem Drummer: Als der letzte Ton verklungen war, stimmten zuerst die MusikerInnen eine Hymne auf den sichtlich ger\u00fchrten Festivalgr\u00fcnder an, dann erhob sich das Publikum zu wohlverdienten Standing Ovations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Textbody\">Gro\u00dfe Emotionen also, auf und vor der B\u00fchne.
