E-Bassist, Bandleader und Professor Wolfgang Schmid feierte seinen 75. Geburtstag mit Freunden in der M\u00fcnchener Unterfahrt<\/h3>\n

Michael St\u00fcckl, Vorstand des Jazzclub Unterfahrt, hatte sich auf Wunsch des Jubilars eigens in Schale geworfen. Schlie\u00dflich machte ihn dieser als 15-J\u00e4hrigen erst zum Jazz-Freund und dann -Veranstalter. Und so begr\u00fc\u00dfte er Wolfgang Schmid, den Bandleader des Abends und Aufsichtsratmitglied des F\u00f6rderkreis f\u00fcr Jazz und Malerei e. V. besonders herzlich vor dem Konzert.<\/p>\n

Schmid gilt als Urgestein am Elektrobass, spielte in der Urbesetzung von Doldingers Passport, war \u201eBassplayer of the year\u201c in den USA. Seit \u00fcber 60 Jahren steht er als Musiker auf der B\u00fchne. Selbstverst\u00e4ndlich genau dort feierte er nun auch seinen 75. Geburtstag, mit zahlreichen Freunden, alten und jungen \u2013\u00a0 im Publikum und auf dem Podium. Nat\u00fcrlich stand ihm Peter W\u00f6lpl an der Gitarre zur Seite, musikalischer Weggef\u00e4hrte seit auch schon 40 Jahren. Schlagzeug spielte dessen Duo-Gef\u00e4hrte bei Luminos W Oli Rubow. Die andere H\u00e4lfte der Geburtstagsband bestand aus Altsaxophonist Jakob Manz und Pianist Hannes Stollsteimer, also einer H\u00e4lfte von The Jakob Manz Project. Dazu kamen noch der Beatboxer und S\u00e4nger Luis Baltes und f\u00fcr die letzte Zugabennummer, gewisserma\u00dfen als Publikumsjoker, eine ehemalige Studentin von Professor Schmid an der Stuttgarter Musikhochschule, die Soulsongs \u201eauf Anhieb in der Original-Tonart singen konnte\u201c.<\/p>\n

Vor dem Soul von Aretha Franklin kam Rap, Funk, Fusion- und Rock-Jazz vom Feinsten aus der Feder von Wolfgang Schmid zu Geh\u00f6r, darunter \u201eLillemor\u201c mit einer r\u00fchrenden Anekdote zur gleichnamigen Katze und die Schmid-Gassenhauer \u201eFull of Schmitt\u201c (Ringading Dang Slothang) und \u201eSing a Song for Yemanj\u00e1\u201c (The Appearance Of The Riverqueen aus dem Musical \u201eManaus\u201c) zum Mitsingen f\u00fcr die Fan-Familie.<\/p>\n
