Am Mikrofon: Karsten M\u00fctzelfeldt<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Linda May Han Oh ist eine musikalische Weltb\u00fcrgerin: Geboren in Malaysia als Tochter chinesischer Eltern, aufgewachsen in Australien, ist sie heute als New Yorkerin im Kreis der weltbesten Jazzer angekommen. Und das nicht nur als Begleiterin, sondern mit ihrer eigenen Musik. Viele wurden auf die Bassistin als Mitglied des Dave Douglas\/Joe Lovano Quintetts aufmerksam. 2016 holte Stargitarrist Pat Metheny sie in seine Band. Ihr Bass-Spiel \u2013 akustisch oder elektrisch \u2013 zeichnet eine enorme Pr\u00e4senz aus; ihre Musik ist kompromisslos und nicht ohne Ecken und Kanten. Inzwischen hat sie auch als Komponistin Aufsehen erregt. F\u00fcr ihre letzte Platte hatte sie ihre Band eigens um Streicher erweitert. Beim gr\u00f6\u00dften finnischen Jazz-Festival in Pori trat sie mit ihrem Quartett auf. Mit dem Lisbeth Quartett betreibt die Saxofonistin Charlotte Greve eine der best\u00e4ndigsten und erfolgreichsten Bands der deutschen Jazzszene. Das Lisbeth Quartett gr\u00fcndete Charlotte Greve vor elf Jahren, als sie noch in Berlin Saxofon studierte. Die Band fand vom Fleck weg ein breites Echo bei Kritikern und Publikum. Kennzeichnend f\u00fcr ihre Musik: weit gespannte Melodieb\u00f6gen, viel Freiraum f\u00fcr spontane Interaktionen \u2013 und eine Intensit\u00e4t, die aus gro\u00dfer Ruhe entsteht. Charlotte Greve ist aber auch ein \u00fcberaus neugieriger Mensch und stets auf der Suche nach neuen Erfahrungen. So zog es sie vor sieben Jahren nach New York, wo sie bis heute lebt. Mittlerweile ist sie tief in die vielf\u00e4ltige Musikszene Brooklyns eingetaucht. Neben diversen Sidewoman-T\u00e4tigkeiten hat sie dort auch eine weitere working band gegr\u00fcndet, mit der sie eine ganz andere Musik macht: Wood River ist beeinflusst von Rock und Indiepop. Anfang der 1940er-Jahre entwickelte er ein musikalisches Vokabular, das heute \u00fcberall auf der Welt als Jazz gesprochen wird. \u201eBird\u201c gilt als Wegbereiter des Modern Jazz; er hat den Bebop gepr\u00e4gt wie kein anderer Spieler. Unser Charlie Parker Abend bringt Aufnahme-Juwelen des Improvisations-Genies. Wir fragen nach der Wirkung seiner Musik bis heute und folgen Parkers Spuren bis hinein in die Sounds von Hip-Hop, Rap und der Big-Band-Musik des 21. Jahrhunderts.
