Joscha Oetz auf dem Kontrabass mobilisiert \u00fcberlegene Energien und kommt immer auf den Punkt, wen er in resoluten Linien die Geschicke lenkt. Sebastian Sternal fantasiert und soliert, l\u00e4sst es funkeln und strahlen auf dem Fender Rhodes, das eben so wenig wie der gro\u00dfe Fl\u00fcgel vor so viel leichtf\u00fc\u00dfiger Anschlagsfinesse widerstehen kann. Und Jonas Burgwinkel: Der zeigt sich einmal mehr pr\u00e4destiniert, um den programmatischen Namen von K\u00f6sters Band w\u00f6rtlich zu nehmen: Sein gestenreiches, intuitives Schlagzeugspiel ist eine permanente \u201eKunst der Verwandlung\u201c. Unabl\u00e4ssig verleibt er sich den Groove, Energielevel, alle Kl\u00e4nge und Gesten und vor allem auch die klitzekleinen Feinheiten eines jeweiligen St\u00fcckes ein, malt aus, f\u00fcllt L\u00fccken, verdichtet, denkt weiter \u2013 und zwar ohne irgendwann mal eitel die Dinge an sich rei\u00dfen zu wollen.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: .0001pt;\">Die \u201eKunst der Verwandlung\u201c verleibt sich an diesem Abend viele Inspirationsquellen ein: Vor allem orientalische Tonskalen haben es Frederik K\u00f6ster angetan, seit er im Rahmen des Morgenland-Festivals nach Beirut tourte. Aber es hat auch viel europ\u00e4isches, ja manchmal durchaus balkaneskes, wie er zu den treibenden Tanzbeats der Band mit Viertelt\u00f6nen jongliert. Wunderbar sensibel streicheln impressionistische Klangbilder die Seele, welche Frederik K\u00f6ster dem s\u00fcdl\u00e4ndischen Levante-Wind abgelauscht hat &#8211; und die hier nun die Abendd\u00e4mmerung stimmungsvoll begleiten.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: .0001pt;\">Das arabische Wort Yallah hei\u00dft so viel wie \u201eLos geht`s\u201c und so klingt dann auch die so betitelte Nummer. Temperamentvoll brennen alle vier ein Ideenfeuerwerk ab. Schlie\u00dflich bleibt nur das Schlagzeug \u00fcbrig \u2013 Burgwinkel zieht in einem m\u00e4chtigen Solo das Resum\u00e9 aus allem voraus gegangenen. Es ist l\u00e4ngst dunkel und die B\u00fchne in farbiges Licht getaucht, als Frederik K\u00f6ster in der Abschluss-Nummer zum S\u00e4nger wird. Leise und poetisch tr\u00e4gt er William Blakes Gedicht \u201eEvening Star\u201c als sensible Ballade vor. Und die wirkt vor allem deshalb so hautnah, weil K\u00f6ster bei diesem reinen unplugged-Konzert gar kein Gesangsmikro hat. Und dies auch gar nicht braucht bei einem Publikum, das im vertieften Zuh\u00f6ren bestens ge\u00fcbt ist. Das K\u00f6lner Quartett hat f\u00fcr seinen aufgekl\u00e4rten Jazz schon zahlreiche Preise abger\u00e4umt \u2013 und sie sind in K\u00f6ln im Rahmen des Klaeng-Kollektivs \u00e4u\u00dferst umtriebig, wenn es um die Vernetzung der regionalen Jazzszene geht. Sie legen sich dann auf der Burg Vischering m\u00e4chtig ins Zeug mit ihren betont eigenst\u00e4ndigen Kompositionen.
