Robert Landfermann gilt als die Kontrabass-Koryph\u00e4e seiner Generation. Im Deutschlandfunk Kammermusiksaal wurde ihr Duo erstmals live aufgenommen. Sebastian Gille und Robert Landfermann sind umtriebige Mitglieder des K\u00f6lner Musikerkollektivs Klaeng. Beide standen schon im Rahmen zahlloser Formationen gemeinsam auf der B\u00fchne und im Studio \u2013 auch mit den Bands, die sie jeweils unter eigenem Namen betreiben. Im Duo aber spielen sie nur sehr selten zusammen. Umso aufregender ist es, den Austausch dieser beiden hochexpressiven Improvisatoren im Rahmen kammermusikalischer Intimit\u00e4t zu erleben. Die Reihe \u201eCologne Duets\u201c entstand in Reaktion auf die Corona-Krise: Sie dokumentiert Duos K\u00f6lner Musikerinnen und Musiker mit Aufnahmen, die live, aber ohne Publikum eingespielt wurden. Er spielt nicht nur in zahlreichen Formationen, sondern veranstaltet auch eigene Konzertreihen. Bei den Hamburg Jazz Open 2019 war seine Musik im XXL-Format zu h\u00f6ren.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Der Saxofonist Gabriel Coburger geh\u00f6rt zu den tonangebenden Jazzmusikern in Hamburg. Seit vielen Jahren pr\u00e4gt er mit seinem Instrument, aber auch mit seinem gro\u00dfen Engagement als Veranstalter von Konzertreihen das musikalische Leben in der Hansestadt. Beim Festival Hamburg Jazz Open 2019 trat Coburger mit zahlreichen Weggef\u00e4hrten aus der \u00f6rtlichen Jazzszene in einer XXL-Formation auf. Mit dem S\u00e4nger Ken Norris und den Arrangements von Wolf Kerschek bekommt Coburgers emotionale Musik viel Energie, Wucht und Groove \u2013 ein beeindruckendes Beispiel daf\u00fcr, wie Jazz aus Hamburg klingen kann. Ja, er ist der Bruder von Max Mutzke, dem hitparadenverw\u00f6hnten deutschen Soul-S\u00e4nger. Aber vor allem ist er Jazztrompeter mit eigener Handschrift. Menzel Mutzke, Jahrgang 1984, hat nach Jahren als begehrter Sideman nun sein Deb\u00fct als Bandleader vorgelegt, aufgenommen im Kammermusiksaal des Deutschlandfunks. Auf Menzel Mutzke trifft der gern zitierte musikalische Familienhintergrund zu: Klavier, Saxofon, Gesang und Schlagzeug waren bereits durch Vater, Schwester und Br\u00fcder abgedeckt. Nach einem kleinen Umweg \u00fcber die Posaune entschied sich Menzel Mutzke f\u00fcr die Trompete, die ihn durch ihre klangliche Pr\u00e4senz und Tragf\u00e4higkeit faszinierte. Mit 15 ging er als Jungstudent nach Z\u00fcrich, sp\u00e4ter studierte er in K\u00f6ln. Inzwischen lebt er in Hamburg, wo er h\u00e4ufiger in der NDR-Bigband aushilft und auch in der Gruppe seines Bruders spielt. Sein Quartettalbum \u201eSpring\u201c pr\u00e4sentiert eleganten, melodischen Modern Jazz mit Pop-Appeal und pers\u00f6nlicher Note. Beim Weltmusikfestival \u201egrenzenlos\u201c gab sie in ihrem Trio ein funkelnd-hintersinniges Konzert.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Viel Musikgeschichte schwingt mit, wenn die Pianistin und Komponistin Carla Bley zusammen mit Bassist Steve Swallow die B\u00fchne betritt. Sie ist 84, er wird bald 80. Vorsichtig setzt sie an seiner Hand einen Fu\u00df vor den anderen auf dem Weg zum Klavier. Gemessenes Tempo hat bei ihnen und ihrem Trio-Partner Andy Sheppard, Saxofon, auch die Musik. Und: viel gelebte Tiefe. Ende 2019 trat dieses Trio beim Weltmusikfestival \u201egrenzenlos\u201c in Murnau auf und spielte dabei ganz neue Kompositionen Carla Bleys.
