Als Jazzgitarristin erspielte sich Susan Weinert, die Anfang M\u00e4rz im Alter von erst 54 Jahren starb, einen Platz in der ersten Reihe einer m\u00e4nnlich dominierten Instrumentalfraktion. Mehr als drei Jahrzehnte lang bildeten Susan und ihr Ehemann, der Kontrabassist Martin Weinert, eine bemerkenswerte musikalische Einheit. Ihr kreatives Schaffen durchlief Stilbereiche von elektrischer Fusion Music bis hin zum lyrischen Kammerjazz. 14 Alben dokumentieren Susan Weinerts Sensibilit\u00e4t als Komponistin und die Kunst ihrer virtuos durchdachten, dabei ungemein gef\u00fchlvoll zelebrierten Improvisationen. In zahllosen Konzerten traten Susan und Martin Weinert im Duo auf oder zusammen mit ausgesuchten Partnern \u2013 so auch mit dem polnischen Pianostar Leszek Mozdzer. Jazz und Sport \u2013 wer bei dieser Kombination nur an die Titelmusik des Aktuellen Sportstudios denkt, hat einiges zu entdecken. Bei allen Unterschieden \u2013 beide Welten haben vieles gemeinsam. Ein finnischer Fu\u00dfball- und ein amerikanischer Basketball-Verein tragen das Wort Jazz im Namen. Und manche Improvisation riecht geradezu nach dem Testosteron-geschw\u00e4ngerten Schwei\u00df des Leistungsgedankens. Aber weit \u00fcber solche \u00c4u\u00dferlichkeiten hinaus mangelt es nicht an Theorien \u00fcber die Verwandtschaft beider Welten und an Beweisen f\u00fcr verbl\u00fcffende Parallelen. Ebenso wenig fehlt es an jazzmusikalischen Liebeserkl\u00e4rungen an den Sport. Seinen von vokalisierten Trompetenlinien durchzogenen Soundscapes gab er Namen wie \u201eMagic Realism\u201c oder \u201eFourth World Music\u201c. Im Folgejahr nahm Gonsalves \u2013 mit 37 Jahren! \u2013 sein eigenes Deb\u00fctalbum auf.
