Eine Fungus-Oper vom Berliner KIM Collective, medial bewegt. Eine gelenkte Gruppenimprovisation eines exotisch besetzen Septetts um Anthony Braxton und ein intimes Duo von Albert-Mangelsdorff-Preistr\u00e4ger Paul Lovens und Florian Stoffner. Spannweiten tun sich da auf. Manches verpufft in einer Idee, die sich nicht realisiert.<\/p>\n<h2>KIM Collective: The Mass of Hyphae a KIM Collective Fungus Opera<\/h2>\n<p>Auf der B\u00fchne ein kreisrunder Aufbau f\u00fcr die Musikerinnen, an der Seite eine Leinwand f\u00fcr Bewegtbild, gerne geteilt. Aus den Lautsprechern t\u00f6nt es schon ein bisschen, bevor die Musikerinnen erscheinen. Nachdem diese von den Seiten einstr\u00f6men und die B\u00fchne entern geht es gleich zur Sache mit einem Powergroove auf Patternbasis. Danach wird es bunt und vielsagend. Fliegende B\u00fchnenbeleuchtung, eine erdr\u00fcckend kraftvolle Gruppenimprovisation. Die Musikerinnen verlassen ihre Pl\u00e4tze, pl\u00f6tzlich jodeln die zwei S\u00e4ngerinnen von den Trib\u00fcnen. Gro\u00dfartig.<\/p>\n<h2>Anthony Braxton\u2019s ZIM Music<\/h2>\n<p>Dagegen steht danach die kleine siebenk\u00f6pfige Formation von Braxtons Komposition der Improvisation. Die Musikerinnen sind in Hufeisenformation aufgestellt. Zwei Harfen, Saxophon, Tuba, Akkordeon, Violine und die vier Saxophone des Anthony Braxton. Eine einst\u00fcndige Kammerimprovisation um den Meister der undurchsichtigen Kompositionsideen. Die exotische Klangmischung k\u00f6nnte an sich hilfreich sein und die Musik insgesamt auff\u00e4chern. Sie tut es aber nur selten. Die Modelle geraten einfach ineinander und erzeugen eine klangliche Komplexit\u00e4t, die h\u00e4ufig genug allein wie ein Rauschen daherkommt. Nach au\u00dfen erschlie\u00dft sich das nicht so einfach \u2013 au\u00dfer manchmal. In den ersten Minuten schwanken allein im Gesamtbild die Dichtegrade. Nur wenn das Ensemble als ganzes gef\u00fchrt wird \u2013 vor allem sp\u00e4ter, durchblickt man das Gewirke.<\/p>\n<audio class=\"wp-audio-shortcode\" id=\"audio-21204-2\" preload=\"none\" style=\"width: 100%;\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"audio\/mpeg\" src=\"https:\/\/www.jazzzeitung.de\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/2019_jazzfestBerlin01_braxton_zim.mp3?_=2\" \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jazzzeitung.de\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/2019_jazzfestBerlin01_braxton_zim.mp3\">https:\/\/www.jazzzeitung.de\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/2019_jazzfestBerlin01_braxton_zim.mp3<\/a><\/audio>\n<p>Und das wirkt dann sogleich fast schon wieder banal. Andererseits: Es gibt Passagen, wo sich das Ensemble mit drei Miniensemble aufteilt. Das sieht man mit Zeichengebung im Initialen. Aber h\u00f6ren? Viel Aufwand f\u00fcr viel Durcheinander, viel Kompliziertheit ohne Komplexit\u00e4t. Wie kann man das ad\u00e4quat wahrnehmen wollen, wenn zugleich auch Passagen solistischer Virtuosit\u00e4t wie im traditionellen Jazz inkludiert sind? Als Werk der Minimalstformen? Als Gesamtverlauf, den man ja erst am Ende kennen kann. Soll man sich im Strom der Ereignisse mittreiben lassen oder sie h\u00f6rend rationalisieren? Von sich aus leistet die Musik wenig Hilfestellung. Man ist entweder drinnen oder drau\u00dfen in dieser Musik, die ab und zu zwar T\u00fcren \u00f6ffnet, doch soll man durch sie hindurch gehen, nicht wissend, ob der Abgrund dahinter m\u00f6glichweise real ist oder nur eine akustische T\u00e4uschung?<\/p>\n<p>Diese Differenzen kosten Gehirnschmalz, verbrauchen extreme H\u00f6rverarbeitungsenergie. Das ist m\u00fchsam und erm\u00fcdet.<\/p>\n<h2>Albert-Mangelsdorff-Preis: Preisverleihung an Paul Lovens \u2013 Konzert mit Paul Lovens und Florian Stoffner<\/h2>\n<p>Der Schlagzeuger Paul Lovens hat den Albert-Mangelsdorff-Preis erhalten. Was man zu Lovens wissen sollte, lesen Sie am besten in der nmz. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nmz.de\/artikel\/intuitive-zusammenarbeit-von-ebenbuertigen\">Hans-J\u00fcrgen Linke hat den Musiker dort portraitiert<\/a>. Er zitiert ihn mit den Worten: \u201eDas improvisierte Solo eines Musikers mit anderen, die ihn begleiten, ist eine Sackgasse. Vor uns liegen viele Jahre einer kollektiven, improvisierten Anstrengung, die intuitive und reife Zusammenarbeit von Ebenb\u00fcrtigen.\u201c<\/p>\n<p>Das haben Lovens und der Gitarrist Florian Stoffner auf der Stelle getan in dem auf Laudatio (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.deutsche-jazzunion.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/2019-11-03_AMP2019_LaudatioManfredSchoof.pdf\">Manfred Schoof mit \u201eintimen\u201c Einblicken<\/a>) und Gru\u00dfworten von Veranstalterinnen und Preisgeld-Stifterinnen augenblicklich getan.<\/p>\n<p>Die hohe Kunst des Duospiels. Denken Sie mal ans Kochen. Zu zweit? Das ist die schwerste Kunst, wenn man nicht vorweg arbeitsteilig denkt und die Arbeit verteilt nach Chefk\u00f6chin und Schnibblerin, oder musikalisch gewendet: nach musikalischer Leitung und Vollzugsmusikerinnentum. Wie gesagt, schwierig das. Da geht manchmal was in die Hose, daf\u00fcr besteht ein dauerhaft hoffnungsvolles Restrisiko \u00fcberraschenden Gelingens. Das gelang den beiden Musikern eben grandios, ebenb\u00fcrtig. Zwei l\u00e4ngere und zwei k\u00fcrzere Kollektivimprovisationen mit einer Blackbird-Zugabe. Klingendes Gl\u00fcck aus Spontaneit\u00e4t. Gesamtgeh\u00f6rtes. Feinteiliges. D\u00fcnnh\u00e4utiges.<\/p>\n<h2>Nachsatz<\/h2>\n<p>Zur Gestaltung der Preistroph\u00e4e, sagte Lovens, erinnere ihn an einen Globus, nur dass in der Mitte die Erde fehle. Irgendwann wird sie weg sein, sagte er, genau wie wir.<\/p>\n<p>Das irdische Leben m\u00fcssen wir einstweilen doch noch. Und es entstehen zu lassen, das kann man wie Braxton mittels \u201esonic genomes\u201c forschend probieren. Oder man legt gleich los. Einen Plan werden wir schon finden. Geht der eine nicht, geht vielleicht ein anderer. Die Musikerinnen verlassen ihre Pl\u00e4tze, pl\u00f6tzlich jodeln die zwei S\u00e4ngerinnen von den Trib\u00fcnen. Sp\u00e4ter wird zu viert am Marimbaphon gespielt, dann ist die B\u00fchne auch mal fast leer, ein Schlagzeug spielt von unter B\u00fchne, ged\u00e4mpft zu h\u00f6ren, aber mit Vibrationen, die die Fu\u00dfsohlen sp\u00fcren.
