Traditionell wird das Internationale Jazz Weekend in Unterf\u00f6hrung, das dieses Jahr zum 17. Mal stattfand, am Donnerstagnachmittag mit einem Kinderkonzert er\u00f6ffnet, unter dem Motto \u201eJazz f\u00fcr Kinderohren\u201c, mit den Musiker(innen) Thilo Wagner, Mini Schulz, Libor Sima, Gesa und Obi Jenne, bevor sich dann an den darauf folgenden Tagen internationale Stars die Klinke in die Hand geben. Nomen est Omen – international und abwechslungsreich war das Jazz-Weekend dieses Jahr wieder mit Formationen aus Spanien, Kuba und Frankreich. Zu Gast aus Spanien war das Duo Chicuelo & Marco Mezquida mit Paco de Mode an den Percussions, die ihre Version von Jazz-Flamenco pr\u00e4sentierten.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Am zweiten Abend gastierte die kubanische Piano & Latin-Jazz Legende Chuco Vald\u00e9s mit seinem Projekt \u201eJazz Bat\u00e1\u201c. Ein absolutes musikalisches Highlight, mit einem wirklich beeindruckenden Aufbau von Perkussionsinstrumenten auf der B\u00fchne, allen voran der Bat\u00e1-Trommel (eine zweifellige, beidseitig bespielbare Sanduhrtrommel), die auf Kuba in einer Dreierkombination zum Einsatz kommt, der \u201eIy\u00e1\u201c, der \u201eIt\u00f3tele\u201c und der \u201eOk\u00f3nkolo\u201c. Chuco Vald\u00e9s, in der Tat ein Tastenderwisch mit einer unglaublichen Fingerfertigkeit und Intonation, spannte seinen musikalischen Bogen von klassischen Versatzst\u00fccken wie Rachmaninoff, \u00fcber Jazz Standards wie \u201eBut Not for me\u201c oder \u201eWaltz for Debby\u201c, kombiniert mit kubanischen Rhythmen, um gleich darauf wieder Bassist Ram\u00f3n V\u00e1zquez sowie den Perkussionisten Dreiser Durruthy, Yaroldy Abreu und Abraham Mansfarroll die B\u00fchne zu \u00fcberlassen. Mit ihren Rhythmen z\u00fcndeten sie einen Kracher nach dem anderen und decken fast das Dach des B\u00fcrgerhauses ab. Das Publikum riss es schlie\u00dflich von den St\u00fchlen. Wirklich einzigartig, was Vald\u00e9s mit \u201eJazz Bat\u00e1\u201c anstellte. Und last not least fehlten am Ende auch die stehenden Ovationen nicht: Respekt und Verbeugung vor der Legende Chuco Vald\u00e9s und seinen Mitstreitern, die den Abend mit zwei Zugaben ausklingen lie\u00dfen.<\/p>\n

Anders als in den Vorjahren fand das Abschlusskonzert des diesj\u00e4hrigen Jazz-Weekends nicht am Vormittag im Eingangsbereich des S-Bahnhofs Unterf\u00f6hring statt, sondern am Abend im B\u00fcrgerhaus. Mit Anne Paceos Band \u201eBright Shadows\u201c gastierte die franz\u00f6sische Ausnahmeschlagzeugerin und verzauberte mit Fingerspitzengef\u00fchl f\u00fcr den Moment und abwechslungsreichen rhythmischen wie lyrischen Momenten. Auf unkonventionell und erfrische Weise pr\u00e4sentierte Paceo einen gelungenen Mix aus Jazz, Popelementen und knackigen Beats. Die Band, stimmlich bereichert durch Ann Shirley und Florent Mateo, zauberte einen homogenen, fesselnden Sound der so vielf\u00e4ltig war, dass er nicht wirklich in eine musikalische Schublade passt.<\/p>\n

Alles in allem ein total relaxtes, ereignisreiches Jazz-Wochenende in Unterf\u00f6hring – man darf gespannt sein, was uns n\u00e4chstes Jahr dort im B\u00fcrgerhaus erwartet.<\/p>\n
