Juni 2019 fand im \u00f6sterreichischen Diersbach das 34. Innt\u00f6ne Jazzfestival statt. Eigentlich, meinte Paul Zauner, m\u00fcssten sie aufh\u00f6ren, Werbung zu machen. Denn das Festival ist an seiner Auslastungsgrenze. Im 34. Jahr ihres Bestehens lockten die Innt\u00f6ne rund 3.000 Jazzfans auf den Hof des Posaunisten, Impresarios und Landwirts, und forderten das Team heraus, m\u00f6glichst reibungslos daf\u00fcr zu sorgen, dass alle gl\u00fccklich sind, Musiker und Publikum, Anwohner und Journalisten. Wie immer gab es die Momente, wo man Schwei\u00dfperlen auf der Stirn des Festivalleiters entdecken konnte, was bei einem derart tiefentspannenden Menschen ein Zeichen daf\u00fcr ist, dass irgendwo gerade der B\u00e4r steppt. Abdullah Ibrahim zum Beispiel verneigte sich mit kammermusikalisch reduktionsklarer Tonsprache vor der Kraft des Spirituellen, tief inspiriert und voll vers\u00f6hnlicher Kraft. Der Posaunist Ray Anderson dokumentierte im h\u00fcbsch heftigen Quartett unter anderem mit Trommelberserker Han Bennink am Schlagzeug, dass das Feuer des freien Spiels noch immer lodert und mit einem Hauch von Ironie pr\u00e4sentiert auch beim Zuh\u00f6ren zum Schmunzeln verf\u00fchrt. Es gab jungen, groovigen Urban Jazz mit dem Trio des britischen Tubisten Theon Cross, der Funk-Jazz-Besetzung des Keyboarders Joe Armon-Jones oder der Orgelorgie des amerikanischen Hammond-Spezialisten Delvon Lamarr. Und es kam immer wieder Unerwartetes, ein Tabla-Solo-Konzert zum Beispiel, wo Avibhav Verma anhand von Variationen \u00fcber verschiedene Backing Tracks dokumentierte, wie sich rhythmische Strukturen kommentierend und aufeinander aufbauend entwickeln k\u00f6nnen. Das Ensemble Supersonus brachte Harfen und renaissancehaft-folkloristische Kl\u00e4nge ins Spiel, einschlie\u00dflich eines im Jazz wahrlich raren, ausgedehnten Maultrommel-Solos. Vor allem aber gab es Sternstunden wie das Konzert des Florian Weber Quartetts. \u00bbIch glaube\u00ab, meinte der Pianist auf der B\u00fchne, \u00bbWir haben noch nie mit so viel Energie gespielt wie heute. Das muss an den Vibes hier liegen\u00ab, f\u00fcgte er hinzu und \u00fcbergab an seine Kollegen Ralph Alessi, Michel Benita und Nasheet Waits, die wie eine Woge der modern jazzenden Intensit\u00e4t den Stadel fluteten. Man darf es also eigentlich nicht weitersagen, dass das Innt\u00f6ne Festival zu den Herzkammern des europ\u00e4ischen Jazzk\u00f6rpers geh\u00f6rt.
