Mit seiner 2016 erschienenen CD \u201aWolf Valley\u2019 hinterlie\u00df Eyolf Dale bleibenden Eindruck: Statt mit Kleinformationen wie zuvor trat er nun mit einer opulenten Oktettbesetzung in Erscheinung. Die Jazzpublizistik empfand es zu Recht als gelungene Melange zweier Welten: Mit ihrer Klangst\u00e4rke erinnere die Gruppe an eine Big Band, dabei sei sie wendig wie ein Quartett. F\u00fcr seine Konzerttourneen hat Dale seine Musik f\u00fcr das Quintettformat umarrangiert. Er begann es rasch zu sch\u00e4tzen, dass sich nun andersartige Gruppenprozesse entfalten \u2013 mehr Selbstverantwortung f\u00fcr die einzelnen Musiker, mehr Interaktion. Eyolf Dale m\u00f6chte erkl\u00e4rterma\u00dfen die Seite seiner Musikalit\u00e4t intensiv erforschen, die spontan agiere und Risiken eingehe. Dabei gebe es in seiner Musik durchaus Romantizismus und Sch\u00f6nheit \u2013 aber dies tue der Musik keinen Abbruch, solange diese \u00c4sthetik kontrastiert werde und dadurch tiefgr\u00fcndiger erscheine. Derzeit arbeitet er an seinem Doktor in Jazz Performance und Komposition: Timo Vollbrecht pendelt seit Jahren zwischen New York und Berlin und genie\u00dft die Vorz\u00fcge beider Metropolen. Sein Projekt ,Fly Magic\u2019 hat er in NYC gegr\u00fcndet und verbindet darin Modern Jazz mit Indie-Rock, Minimal, Pop und klassischen Kl\u00e4ngen. Alles begann im nieders\u00e4chsichen Stadthagen bei Hannover, wo Timo Vollbrecht aufwuchs und schnell vom allerersten Plastik- zum richtigen Saxofon gelangte. Nach seinem Jazzstudium in Berlin \u2013 in der Zeit entstanden Projekte wie ,Gerry getz Chet\u2019 oder ,MSV Brecht\u2019 \u2013 ging der junge Musiker 2010 in die USA, um an der New Yorker New School bei Musikern wie Joe Lovano, Mark Turner oder Stefon Harris weiterzustudieren. Und er blieb in New York. Inzwischen hat der Tenorsaxofonist mit dem warmen, facettenreichen Sound einen guten Stand in der dortigen Szene, die er als pulsierend, spontan und divers empfindet.
