Dabei macht er immer wieder die Grenzen zu anderen Kunstdisziplinen und -gattungen durchl\u00e4ssig. 2015 war er bei der 56. Kunst-Biennale Venedig mit zwei Installationen und einer Musik-Perfomance vertreten. Seine Musik folgt nicht dem klassischen \u201el\u2019 art pour l\u2019 art\u201c Gedanken. Moran versteht sich vielmehr als ein K\u00fcnstler, der neben musikalischen Fragen auch solche zu gesellschaftlichen und sozialen Entwicklungen stellt. In seinen Klavier-Solo-Performances kreiert er Sounds, in denen das ganze Kontinuum der Black Music \u2013 vom Blues \u00fcber Avantgarde, Soul, Work Song und Hip-Hop, bis hin zu den Kl\u00e4ngen der schwarzen B\u00fcrgerrechtsbewegung \u2013 im Licht aktueller k\u00fcnstlerischer M\u00f6glichkeiten verhandelt wird.<\/p>\n<p>21:05 bis 22:00 | Deutschlandfunk<br \/>\n<strong>Jazz Live: Radio Big Band Lettland and Randy Brecker<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Randy Brecker, Trompete. Am Mikrofon: Karsten M\u00fctzelfeldt<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Einer der gro\u00dfen amerikanischen Namen bei Jazzbaltica 2018 war Randy Brecker. Der Trompeter \u00fcberraschte mit einer jungdynamischen baltischen Gro\u00dfformation, dem Jazzorchester des Lettischen Rundfunks in Riga. Dass Brecker zu den weltbesten Vertretern seines Faches z\u00e4hlt, ist unbestritten. Wie brillant der New Yorker auch noch mit 72 Jahren spielt \u2013 gerade f\u00fcr Trompeter ein kritisches Alter \u2013 war nicht\u00a0 \u00fcberraschend: Viele teilten nach dem Konzert in Timmendorf den Eindruck, er sei besser denn je zuvor. Das kurzweilige Programm bot einige seiner Hardbop-, Latin- und Fusionkompositionen, St\u00fccke seines verstorbenen Bruders Michael und Klassiker aus dem Repertoire der Brecker Brothers. Kurz nach seinem 59. Geburtstag trat er mit seiner Band im Rahmen von Stuttgart Jazzopen 2018 auf.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">SWR2 pr\u00e4sentiert Ausschnitte des Konzertes vom 17. Juli in der Scala Ludwigsburg \u2013 ein akustisches Kraftpaket sondergleichen. In dem auch die r\u00fchrende Erinnerung an den k\u00fcrzlich verstorbenen Vater (92) nicht fehlen darf, \u201ePreacher\u2019s Kid\u201c. In der Ansage schildert Miller, wie er im Alter von 21 Jahren, in Toronto bei einem seiner ersten Konzerte mit Miles Davis, im Publikum den Vater entdeckt, komplett in Wei\u00df gekleidet.
