Am Vorabend der franz\u00f6sischen Pr\u00e4sidentschaftswahl ging die Konzertserie BMW Welt Jazz Award 2017 unter dem Titel „Bass erstaunt“ mit einem fulminanten Konzert zu Ende. Den mit 10.000 Euro dotierten BMW Welt Jazz Award erhielt der franz\u00f6sische Bassist Renaud Garcia-Fons f\u00fcr eine Hommage „Revoir Paris“ an seine Heimatstadt. Den mit 5.000 Euro dotierten zweiten Preis erspielte sich das Quintett von Eva Kruse mit ihrem CD-Programm „On the Mo“. Der Publikumspreis bestand wieder aus einem Konzert plus Aufenthalt im Alpenhotel Schloss Elmau und ging ebenfalls an das Renaud Garcia-Fons-Trio.<\/p>\n

Die Fachjury urteilte: \u201e\u00dcberragende Technik ist in der Klassik wie im Jazz nicht alles. Wie Eva Kruse und ihre Begleiter mit ,On the Mo\u2018 demonstriert haben, geh\u00f6rt auch kompositorische Kreativit\u00e4t und emotionale Kraft dazu, ein Publikum zu begeistern. Ein Gl\u00fccksfall ist es, wenn einzigartige Virtuosit\u00e4t am Kontrabass ganz im Dienst eines alle Sinne bewegenden musikalischen Portr\u00e4ts gestellt wird. Wie bei Renaud Garcia-Fons\u2018 schillernder Hommage an seine Heimatstadt Paris. Da geht es mal lyrisch filigran, mal mit packender Wucht \u2013 und nicht zuletzt mit einem stupenden Bogenspiel, das auch klassische Musiker nicht besser beherrschen \u2013 quer durch die musikalischen Epochen, typischen Stile und Gem\u00fctslagen der franz\u00f6sischen Kapitale. Deshalb hat sich die Jury f\u00fcr das Renaud Garcia-Fons Trio als Gewinner des BMW Welt Jazz Awards 2017 entschieden.\u201c<\/p>\n
