Foto: Ralf Dombrowski<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Am Anfang traf man sich auf der Insel Skeppsholmen, im Sommer, unter freiem Himmel und zu einem unterhaltsam Programm, das unter anderem Musiker wie Dizzy Gillespie, Chet Baker oder Count Basie in die Stadt lockte. Seitdem sind mehr als drei Jahrzehnte ins Land gegangen, der Sommertermin wurde in den Herbst geschoben und aus den Wiesen wurden Clubs und Theaterb\u00fchnen wie das Fasching oder das Kulturhuset. Denn das <a href=\"http:\/\/stockholmjazz.com\/english\">Stockholm Jazz Festival<\/a> entwickelte sich zu einem zentralen Treffpunkt nationaler und internationaler K\u00fcnstler, die sich dort im Herbst mit neuen, oft eigens geschriebenen Programmen vorstellen. Zur Er\u00f6ffnung beispielsweise lud das Stockholm Art Orchestra um den Saxofonisten Nils Berg die S\u00e4nger Fatoumata Diawara in die Band, mit dem Ziel, die eigene schwebend kammermusikalische Klangvorstellung mit Impulsen aus Mali zu verkn\u00fcpfen. Das Resultat klang durchwachsen, nach anf\u00e4nglichen gestalterischen H\u00f6flichkeiten aber zunehmend konzise und wurde von charmantem Ernst und der hinrei\u00dfend pr\u00e4senten Stimme Diawaras bestimmt. Ebenfalls ein Experiment war die Kombination des Saxofonisten Magnus Lindgren mit der Operns\u00e4ngerin Malena Ernman. In diesem Fall vor einem Publikum der Silver Ager umgarnten sich die beiden musikalisch, in den Soundteppich von Lindgrens versiertem Quartett gepackt, k\u00fcnstlerisch gut gelaunt, inhaltlich aber ohne Risiko ungewohnter Kreativit\u00e4tsabweichungen. Ganz anders versorgten hingegen der Saxofonist Roscoe Mitchell und der Schlagzeuger Kikanju Baku ihr Publikum. Das war frei improvisierte, auf dauerhaft hohem Energielevel agierende Musik, die die alten Tage Avantgarde in Erinnerung rief. In die Zukunft wiederum wiesen die Sons Of Kemet mit Michel Godard als Tuba-Gast, deren unb\u00e4ndige, urbane, rhythmisch orientierte Stilmixtur eine andere, junge und enthusiasmierte Zielgruppe erreichte. Nicht zuletzt setzten auch die ortsans\u00e4ssigen Musiker Zeichen. So donnerte der Schlagzeuger Jari Haapalainen im Trio trocken und emphatisch am Punk Jazz entlang. Das LSD Trio um den Saxofonisten Fredrik Lindborg konterte mit sublimiertem Sonny Rollins, die Pianistin Naoko Sakata schwelgte in kammerjazziger Abstraktion und Meister Bobo Stenson spielte eines seiner intensivsten Solo-Konzerte seit langem. Mit \u00e4hnlicher Vielfalt geht es noch weiter bis zum kommenden Sonntag &#8211; und dann beginnt f\u00fcr den Festivalleiter Magnus Palmquist Lunay schon wieder die Suche nach den passenden Projekten f\u00fcr die kommende Runde.
